As I posted last month, St. Louis is the place to be for concerts this summer. From Journey to Heart, Def Leppard to Poison to Lynard Skynard, there are more concerts that I want to attend than there are not. That said, I have never purchased concert tickets before (though I have purchased musical tickets before, which I guess are similar), and I’d love to hear about how to go about it from someone who’s been there and done that.

I hear that MetroTix is the easiest place to buy concert tickets in St. Louis, but I’ve also heard that there are cheaper routes. How does that work, exactly? Is it like searching for air fare prices?My husband says that he hears that Ticketmaster is the best place to buy tickets. What is the difference? Do they charge different fees? And do any of them allow you to print out tickets?

I’d also love to hear about people’s experiences with lawn seats, which are so much cheaper. Are they worth the purchase? I don’t know if you can bid on tickets anywhere, or even if that’s legal or not, either. If you know, please feel free to share the information and help a fellow St. Louisan or two out!
